How to clean a garage door and an oily garage floor!

Let start by letting you know that most of the cleaning tools that you need for this job are somewhere around your household already.
To clean your garage door, you don’t need any fancy soap or brush.
And to remove oil stains off the garage floor, all will depend on how nasty your stains are; you may need to buy one thing that is not very common to have at home, but that is for later.

Please, read the garage door manufacturer’s manual to be on the safe side. However, steel, aluminum, or fiberglass garage door should be fine with any soap, brush, or sponge. Remember, they are manufacture to resist the weather. But, we recommend you add a coat of silicone wax to it to prevent damage and fading. If your familiar with waxing a car, well, here you have it; a silicone wax use for car waxing would be fine for your garage door.

Let start!

Before applying the silicone wax coat, grab a regular broom to remove dust, spider webs, etc. Don’t use water at this point.

After you have done all the cleaning, dry the garage door to apply the wax coat if you want to add it. No many wax products mix well with water.
For maintenance, you could check the weather stripping and add some lubrication, which you should do every three months anyway.

Removing Oil and Grease Stains from Concrete Garage Floors!

We understand that nobody really likes to clean or organize the garage’s house. However, if we don’t do it, we will have a more serious challenge next time we try.

Tools for the job!

  • Baking Soda
  • Sawdust
  • Cat litter
  • Lemons
  • Dish Soap

If you need to clean a fresh spill, use the cat litter or sawdust, spreading it over the stain and leaving it there for about one day to absorb the spill.

Use a broom to sweep it and dispose of the material after.

Let it there for 60 minutes, and then brush it down or even better if you have a power tool like pressure washing. You should be able to get rid of any oil stain with these tips. However, here are some links that may be useful to you:
